The Tattoo Removal Process
The tattoo removal process is simple and most of the time for most people it’s also painless. It’s good to know that a tattoo rarely gets removed in one session. No one can define the exact number of sessions. On average, a tattoo needs 3 to 5 sessions to be removed.

Before & After
Each tattoo incident is different on each body. There are many factors that play into the number of sessions a tattoo will need to be removed, including: the ink the Tattoo Artist used to create it, how deep the needle penetrated the skin, the consistency and quality of the ink that was used to perform the tattoo, how our machine reacts to your skin, etc.
A tattoo to be removed, on average, needs at least three to five sessions, without this being certain in every case. The factors mentioned above regarding the number of sessions play a role.
The results you see on our profile and official website are tattoos that are in progress. That is why in many photos the "faint" you see in the tattoos is just before the last session when the skin remains intact and becomes as it was in its original form.

F.A.Q.
How do you get such good results in tattoo removal?
All these years, our secret in the tattoo removal field is based on a combination of medical knowledge and the best tattoo artists in Greece and abroad. Our experience in so many tattoos helped to get us where we are now and we thank you all for that.
How many sessions do I need for my tattoo to be removed?
This is a question that concerns a lot of people who go through the process of removing a tattoo. The honest answer is that there are many factors at play. Many of these factors are: what kind of ink has been used by the tattooer, how deep the ink has penetrated, as well as the quality of your skin. Based on our experience, we can have a better sense of how to respond after we’ve done at least one session. After the third session we can have a better sense for tattoos that have been heavily inked. Our equipment is the most advanced available in the market. Our goal is for you to have the least possible sessions with the best possible results.
How many sessions does it take on average to remove a tattoo?
As we mentioned before, the number of sessions is determined by many factors. This is an answer that we often cannot give clearly. After seeing many cases in our space, we can answer that it takes around 3 to 5 sessions for someone to see the desired results. However, there have been times where only one session was needed to remove a tattoo and other times that we needed more than three sessions.
How much does tattoo removal cost?
The price for tattoo removal is usually by the session. It depends on the size and complexity of the tattoo. Prices begin from 40 euros at our clinic. Our goal is for you to have the best possible result in the least possible sessions.
Is the tattoo size important?
Laser tattoo removal can be done on any tattoo, regardless of how large or small it is. The larger the tattoo, the more time the session will take. If we judge that we need to separate a tattoo into smaller sessions it’s because our goal is a milder healing process. Ask us by sending us a few distant and a few close-up clear photos of your tattoo and we can recommend options since every tattoo case is different.
Is there a possibility that I will not see a difference in the tattoo removal from the first session?
The first session in tattoo removal is indicative. Every skin and every tattoo is different. When a tattoo is very heavily inked you might not see a marked difference from the first session. The areas where we see a big difference are usually areas where the tattoo is not that heavily inked or where there are light shadows with grey or black ink. In the areas where we have intense lines or intense filling in we can see a difference from the third session onward.
Attention! Most tattoo removal spaces will not inform you in time and as a result you will lose a large amount of your money “trying” to remove your tattoo. At Tattoo Removal Greece we respect all our clients and friendsand we will let you know about the condition of your tattoo at every session, saving you effort, pain, and money.
Is there a possibility that my tattoo will never be removed?
The tattoo removal laser treatment can be used to fully remove, or discolor the ink from your skin in the process of covering your old tattoo with a new one. It’s easier to remove some types of ink and some colors of ink (such as black inks).
In order to see results in a tattoo removal and to have a more informed opinion about your case we need to do at least 3 removal sessions.
There is always a possibility that the tattoo cannot be removed or that it cannot be completely removed, though that is something we rarely see in this space. This depends on many factors such as the quality of the ink used on the tattoo, how deeply it has penetrated your epidermis, how long you have had it and how the machine responds to your skin.
In any case, it’s good to keep in mind that if your tattoo cannot be removed you can cover it with a new one or you can let it discolor for a long time and then repeat a new session. Every tattoo case is different so you can consult the experts in our space.
How often can I do a laser session? If I have more frequent sessions, will my tattoo be removed faster?
Tattoo removal sessions can be conducted at least every 45-50 days for your safety and the proper healing for your skin. Getting more sessions in less than 45 days between them will not give you any difference whatsoever. The right removal of a tattoo takes time, so that your skin will be smooth and will seem like there was never any tattoo done. (Every tattoo case can be different. That means that a tattoo can differ from another in terms of how much time we will let pass from one session to another.)

What do I need to do to prepare my skin before a tattoo removal session?
In general the preparation is optional. However, we recommend to all our clients, especially during the first session or to anyone who hasn’t done a removal before, to use a special anesthetizing cream.
If the tattoo you wish to remove is smaller than 2-3 centimeters you don’t need to apply something or to prepare in any way. It’s optional.
For every other small, medium, or larger sized tattoos we recommend the anesthetizing cream so that the removal process is more comfortable for you.
- Spread a thick layer of the cream on your tattoo to the point where you can’t see it. (Ask us about the brands we recommend).
-Wrap your tattoo well in clear plastic wrap (NOT in gauze or a bandage) for about one hour before your session. Make it airtight.
It’s advisable that you are well-rested before your session, that you have not consumed alcohol or anything you think might put a strain on your body during the session.
What do I need to pay attention to after a tattoo removal session?
Even though it might sound strange, tattoo removal is a simple procedure. After every session it would be advisable to carefully follow the guidelines we give you so that everything goes as smoothly as possible.
- For the first 24 hours after the session, avoid bringing the tattoo removal area in contact with water.
- For the first four days apply Fucidin cream (you can get it from any pharmacy) twice a day, morning and evening.
- For the following days and until the tattoo heals, apply Jalplast cream.
(In the final sessions you can apply Jalplast or Kelosoft cream ONLY if we tell you to).
What will my skin look like right after the tattoo removal?
Every skin is different and every tattoo case is different. It’s common to see some bruises in the hours right after the treatment, but these go away quickly. Most of the time the skin appears close to how it was when you had a fresh tattoo. Your skin condition may differ from session to session due to the different intensity used in the application. In any case, don’t be alarmed if you see a different texture to your skin or different healing times depending on the session.
As the skin starts to heal, you might also see blisters. Don’t burst them. Burst blisters may cause scarring and increase the possibility of infection.
If after the tattoo removal session I’ve done in your space I’m not diligent with applying the healing creams will I see a result in my tattoo?
Aftercare and correct healing on a tattoo play an equally important part as the session does. The time frame for healing is part of the session. Based on cases we have seen through the years we can tell you with certainty that our clients who were diligent in applying the special creams after their session saw better results from the others who did not apply the creams as we advised them in the guidelines.
Does it make a difference on which part of my body the tattoo that I want removed is?
Laser tattoo removal can be conducted on any tattoo on any part of the body, with very few exceptions on very specific parts of the body.
Can I remove my tattoo during the summer?
The main enemy for the colors of your tattoo is the sun. But in tattoo removal discoloration is what we want the most! The summer months don’t pose a problem in you undergoing sessions. The only thing you need to be careful of is the first 4-5 days that your tattoo is healing. After healing you can be exposed to the sun without worry. On the contrary, often you might see it discolor even faster compared to a session done in the winter months.
Does it make a difference what laser machine the person doing the removal has?
The “good” tattoo removal machines are used as promotion for most doctors and private persons working in this field and they invest thousands of euros to advertise them. For us, tattoo removal is something that requires a lot of experience. Constant contact with the best Greek tattoo artists, our specialized dermatologists and our honesty, have helped get us to where we are. That is what makes us the best in tattoo removal in Greece. So the machines are something that plays an important role but they are not everything. Ask someone you know who did not come to us for their tattoo removal and you will see that most of the times they promise things they cannot deliver.
Does the ”operator” of the laser machine play a role in the tattoo removal or does it depend only on the machine?
Tattoo Removal has become known in Greece in recent years. Tattoo removal machines became known globally during the 1990s. Many companies and doctors spend thousands of euros, sometimes even millions, for promoting their machines instead of spending time to learn how to improve their operation. For Tattoo Removal Greece our priority is, of course, getting the desired results fast, affordably, in as few sessions as possible, and without scarring and spots. What makes us better is our everyday contact with removal as well as with the tattoo world. That’s why the entire community of Greek tattoo artists trusts us and recommends us to clients.
Is laser harmful for my health?
Laser tattoo removal is completely safe when conducted or overseen by an expert or a dermatologist. Essentially, laser is amplified monochromatic light that causes selective photothermolysis in the area where the tattoo ink is and breaks it down with special ray technology. It poses no risks to the body as it does not affect the skin or internal organs.
Is there a difference in the removal of a tattoo depending on how machines have advanced?
It’s certain that as years go by there is more advancement in the tattoo removal field. At this point the good machines are very few in the market and ours is one of them. Specifically, it is considered the best in the world. Pico technology has more pulses by the second and tattoo healing happens much more mildly compared to older removal machines of the Q-Switched type.
How much does tattoo removal hurt?
For many people, pain is subjective. It wouldn’t be right for us to answer this question, but our clients. However, the truth is that it is not as horrible as some people say. Most of our clients liken it to the pain of being hit by a stretched elastic band. Before sessions, if you follow the guidelines we give you and you apply the special cream for the pain, the sessions will be almost painless. Just trust us!
Is it true that tattoo removal hurts more than a regular tattoo?
Pain in tattoo removal is very relative since sessions last much less compared to a tattoo (45 minutes). A very large tattoo may take 6-7 hours to be completed. By applying the special cream we recommend before each session, the tattoo removal process becomes almost painless. For example, in a tattoo that took 8-10 hours to complete, the time needed for a tattoo removal session is 15 to 25 minutes approximately.
How long does a tattoo removal session last?
A tattoo removal session may take from a minute to up to 45 minutes at the most. The length of time is defined by the complexity and the size of the tattoo. For example, a tattoo that took 45 minutes may take around five to ten minutes to be removed.
Does tattoo removal leave spots and scars on the skin?
The correct answer regarding our space/clinic (Tattoo Removal Greece) is NO! Our partners were among the first in Greece who gave great attention to the issue of spots and scars. A large part of beauty salons as well as doctors gives more attention to how they will remove the tattoo than keeping the skin intact. This is a big mistake. We are the only ones in Greece that can guarantee this issue. This is one more way that we can daily show the certainty and professionalism in the quality of our work. A tattoo may scar if the skin has previously undergone a strong hit in the area of the tattoo causing a keloid (meaning very rough texture). In this case, the texture of the scar will be reduced significantly after sessions with our machine and the ink will subside, but because of the trauma the skin may not revert 100% to its initial state.
Can I do removal (or discoloration) on a tattoo in order to prepare my skin for a cover up or for another tattoo?
The truth is that most of our clients are tattoo enthusiasts. In recent years tattooing has become saturated. Many people don’t get good results by getting tattoos at home or in other spaces from non-professionals or talent-less tattoo artists. That’s why they begin the process of removal or discoloration. After a specific amount of days have passed since your session in our space, and after talking to your tattoo artist, it’s possible to get a tattoo in the area where you had the removal session. Removal is the best choice you can make without having to cover a tattoo in blackness or some coarse design.
